Croydon 0-19 Service Development

Community health nurses

Since November 2017 Benson Wintere have been working with Croydon Health Services NHS Trust supporting development in integrated 0-19 service delivery, planning and data analysis.

We implemented and configured the Benson model to align with local data, demographics and an agreed future service plan. The project has been partly collaborative, involving representatives from London Borough of Croydon. This allowed the provider and the commissioner to share information about existing performance, areas of risk and improvements, and the relationship between funding, capacity, safe caseloads, complexity and service delivery. This also involved sharing of reports and assumptions to the commissioner with the greater transparency facilitating discussion, feedback and leading to shared understanding and initial discussions around shaping of the future service.

We have continued to work with CHS as part of our ongoing support arrangements to target on areas of development, and identifying areas of potential improvement and inefficiency. The Benson model has been used to determine a future workforce vision, including greater deployment of skill mix and optimisation of the workforce across teams.
