Benson model: Mental health & Psychology
In 2017 the a new mental health and pyschological therapies module of the Benson model was developed in conjunction with two pilots run in England and Scotland. Like the pre-existing modules this was configured to provied providers and commissioners of these services with a robust, objective and dynamic live methodology allowing evidence basing around historicl referral patterns and use of clinicali data to create a baseline service model. The clients assist us to map the referral and care pathways, and the care interventions to allow the historical data to inform the baseline model.
This is intended to understand the baseline model, inform decisions around resource allocation taking into account patient complexity, inform new workforce specifications and ultimately to inform strategy and predict future workloads and workforce requirements given growth in historic referral patterns.
Like the other Benson models the mental health / psychology module is owned by our provider clients with ongoing support from Benson Wintere to refresh and refine the models. We have also assisted one of our sites with what-if analysis based on potential extension of scope and increase in referral levels.
